Sports Massage: encompasses modalities, techniques, and approaches including cramp relief and friction techniques, muscle energy, cryotherapy, core strengthening exercises, trigger point therapy, therapeutic stretching, and myofascial release. The therapist will often treat such common injuries as tendonitis, sprains, strains, tennis and golfer’s elbow, carpal tunnel, and wrist/thumb pain. The goal is to improve structural alignment and integration, lengthen chronically shortened muscles, reduce trigger points, and myofascial pain through the use of fascial release, therapeutic stretching, and strengthening techniques.
